Our club was founded in 1924 and was sponsored by the Bellingham Kiwanis Club.

Kiwanis membership spans the globe, with more than 260,000 adult members and approximately 320,000 youth in 8,000 clubs in 96 countries. Kiwanis Clubs alone raise more than $107 million, sponsor nearly 150,000 service projects and puts in approximately 6.2 million hours of community service each year. Kiwanis service projects range from efforts that help local communities to Kiwanis Interenational's Worldwide Service Project to eleiminate iodine deficiency disorders. The Kiwanis mission is to, "Serve the Children of the World." What is a Kiwanian? Kiwanis means "we trade" or "we share our talents." It was derived from an a Native American expression, "Nunc Kee-wanis." |
